About Aoife
Aoife Lawless graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2013. She spent the following 10 years working in Norfolk and Liverpool in hospital, community and rehabilitation settings. Over the years she gathered a wealth of experience working with adults with various communication, voice and swallowing (dysphagia) difficulties caused by issues such as Stroke, Dementia, Neurological conditions, and Respiratory conditions to name a few.
She returned to Ireland in 2023 and has been working in a hospital setting since. Here, she has been keenly developing and leading services and supporting the growth of her team.
Aoife is a strong advocate for people with communication and swallowing difficulties and is committed to providing adults across Mayo with the support they need.
Aoife believes in a holistic approach to assessment and therapy. This means she takes into account not only the communication, voice or swallowing difficulty being targeted but the areas of your life that are being affected e.g. socialising, accessing or preparing modified meals, quality of life, or self-confidence among many others.
Aoife is based in Westport but will travel to your home so that you can experience assessment and therapy in the comfort and reassurance of your own home.
